TellmeOmuse™ products are based on the Greek and Roman myths and the classic literature that contains these myths. We’re talking about ancient storytellers during a period of time that is roughly 3,000 years old, with influence that goes back much further. It’s amazing actually. Think about it. We might not be reading about and talking about the Greek myths today if it hadn’t been for the creative work, the incredibly clever work, the - “how in the world did they do that without a computer” - work, contributed by the ancient storytellers. Thanks to Homer, Hesiod, Pindar, Aeschylus, Sophocles, Euripides, Virgil and Ovid, today we are able to read and tell stories that were originally recited aloud by the ancient bards.
Ancient stories, engaging, important, and incredibly enchanting stories. And every one of them filled with timeless wisdom!
These ancient stories are the inspiration for TellmeOmuse.
On November 9th 2007, TellmeOmuse held their first annual Art Show at the Artists Inn Residence in Washington, DC – home of the first TellmeOmuse mythology murals. Here are Michael Tacconi (as Homer), Deanna Zandt (as Circe and Calypso) and Zack Paben (as Odysseus and Zeus) dramatically re-telling three of the most memorable scenes from Homer’s Odyssey. Introductions to each story are from The Odyssey Storytelling Game. Quotations are from the Richmond Lattimore translation of Homer's Odyssey (HarperCollins) (approx. running time for each video is 2 minutes).
